The all-purpose Scotch-Brite (TM) Handpad 7447 is suitable for a wide range of materials and tasks. Our hand pads combine flexibility with effective removal and precise handling for an even, fine surface finish. They are particularly suitable for demanding cleaning jobs. Scotch-Brite hand pads are comparable to 1 grit steel wool. Unlike steel wool, however, they do not tear during use, do not rust after use and do not form fine metal splinters. The open fleece does not clog and can be used dry or with water or solvents and rinsed for reuse. Our brown hand pads can be used in a variety of ways. They are comfortable to hold, give the user precise control and can be used with a hand sanding block for an even finish. For larger areas, they can be used with an orbital sander. Our hand pads are equipped with a fine aluminum oxide abrasive that enables fast and fine removal for a homogeneous finish. Experts prefer aluminum oxide due to its robustness, high removal rate and long service life. The tips and edges of the durable abrasive break off during use, resulting in continuously fresh cutting edges. In contrast to conventional abrasives, such as garnet, this extends the service life. Due to its high removal rate, hardness, strength and low heat generation, aluminum oxide is often used for sanding work in addition to finishing. It is suitable for a wide variety of surfaces such as wood and metal, including ferrous alloys.
